Let me introduce myself.  

My name is Vicky.  I am the co-owner and primary contact at Bargain Beads.  I was born in upstate NY, moved to North Carolina, and then on to Washington.  My background is in computer support.  I've been a Systems Analyst for 15 years.  It seems that everything I've done has led me to this point.  I started in bookkeeping (years ago!).  I worked with the public as a sales associate.  I moved on to inventory control, then  into computers (support, engineering, deployment, you name it!)

How did we get started in beads?

I was on a trip about 9 years ago. We found our way into this little bead store. I was amazed and HOOKED! That little store started my bead hobby. But at the same time, I couldn't help but look around and see the number of people in the store...I wondered just how popular was this hobby? When I completed my check-out, I was astonished to find that I had spent almost $200.00 for a handful of beads. How can this be? Granted, I have saved money over purchasing costume jewelry, but this is really REALLY expensive! How do people do it? Whenever I decide to embark on a new hobby, I like to try out different things. I make mistakes - but these could be some really expensive mistakes! That's too much stress for me! Surely, there's got to be a cheaper way to enjoy this hobby!
I looked high and low. I looked at stores all over the country - even outside the US...and all were very expensive. I spent more time trying to find reasonable prices than I did beading!!!   I came to the conclusion...I can do this better! But with a caveat...NO OVERHEAD! 

We made a huge step forward and brought Swarovski on line.  It took months just to set up the deal to work directly with them.  The commitment is huge!  

We've been doing this for a several years now. It's been an experience that we just could not have imagined. We get so many comments that people have just found us and can't believe our prices. One purchase is generally all it takes, and they keep coming back. Yes, we really do offer the real thing - an exceptional product, an excellent price, and fast shipping!
